- Understand the nature of variation.
- Distinguish between common cause variation and assignable cause
variation.
- Define tolerances and recognize they are vital in the establishment
of product uniformity.
Lesson 2 – What is Quality and What is Quality
Control?, Statistical Methods, The Tools of SQC
Objectives:
- Differentiate between design and production quality.
- Understand how quality planning, control inspection, non-conforming
product control, and acceptable procedure development are part of the
quality program.
- Develop an understanding of statistical control methods, and
recognize the three fields to
which statistical quality control
techniques are applied.
Lesson 3 – The Benefits of a Quality System,
Summary
Objectives:
- Understand
the relationship between Quality & Production departments with
respect to data.
- Recognize the importance of inspection methods in quality engineering.
- Identify benefits obtained from a quality system.
