Define the primary rheological properties that make sandwich molding possible.

Develop basic understanding of material shrinkage, material viscosity, and material
adhesion conditions in the sandwich molding process.

State the advantages and disadvantages of mono-sandwich molding compared to
co-injection molding.

Lesson 3 – Co-injection Molding, Specific Applications

Objectives:

List cost and quality advantages to the co-injection process.

Identify the two main elements of co-injection manifold, and state the importance to the
design considerations.

Detect the process parameters critical to co-injection molding.
