Description: The
Assembly
Design for Plastic Parts course provides an insight into the various assembly
methods commonly used in plastic product assembly and manufacturing.
Detailed are the stages of design, engineering, and analysis of the part and
assembly. It is during these stage where an understanding of
plastic behavior and its mechanical limits are essential to preventing
failure. Also reviewed are the classical theories of the strength of
materials. Experience
and a working relationship with the material supplier is another key to
developing the final dimensions to achieve the optimum fit of a
fastener or the proper joint design.
