8 Professional Development Hours/0.8 CEUs
Course
Description: Within the FEA, Virtual
Prototyping and Validation course various techniques are discussed,
with examples and common tools available. In addition, two stages in the
virtual design process are also evaluated. The first is the creation of
the engineering design, and the second is the evaluation of the
design. The tools for each are also reviewed. Exploration of the
different forms of computer-aided design (CAD) such as, wire frame
geometry, surface modeling, and solid modeling are key features of this
course which will improve your understanding of design evaluation using
simulations and virtual prototyping.
Overall Course Objectives:
Course Content:
Lesson 1 – Introduction, Data Creation, Design Evaluation
Objectives:
Lesson 2 – Tools in Depth
Objectives:
Lesson 3 – Types of Analysis & Simulations
Objectives:
- Describe the function of the design optimization process.
- Compare the results of non-linear analysis to the results of linear structural analysis.
- Interpret how the event simulation for the different types of analysis aids the engineer in studying the design in operation.
